Hi Everyone
Well, I finally finished the scrapbook, and I've made her 2 little sundress with barrettes to match. I am having way too much fun having a grandaughter. When our daughter was expecting her, I prayed for a girl. I know healthy is the main thing, but I wanted at least one girl to sew for. After that, God can give us all boys, I just wanted to make sure I got one to make stuff for, Know what I mean?
I mentioned the Brazilian embroidery. Here's a picture of the one piece I've done. I loved doing it and hope to make another. I had never seen it till a vendor was at last year's local show. Boy, was I taken with the look of it. Possibly I'll make a couple more and piece a small wall hanging.
Blessings,
Linda

Wow Linda! That is just exquisite. I'm so glad that you posted about your Brazilian embroidery. How long did it take to do this? It looks very time consuming and complex -- but so beautiful!

Linda, Your embroidery is absolutely beautiful. I don't recall ever hearing "Brazilian" embroidery previously, but oh this is the best I've ever seen. I love it. You are very talented! Thanks for sharing.

What a gorgeous heart. Truly special.
Oh my gosh - that embroidered heart is absolutely gorgeous. It is so wonderful. And I know what you mean about wanting healthy for a grandchild, but having a girl is so wonderful. There is so much sewing that can be done for them - such pretty things.
Hi Everyone
thank you for the kind comments. When i saw the sample at the quilt show, it took my breath away--Only we artists can understand that I think. I did it last summer, so it only took a few weeks, working while the TV was on with hubby. The stitches are regular stitches we alway do in embroidery. It's the thread that gives it the dimension. The thread is weighty, so it tends to fall out of the needle, I had to learn how to handle it. Other than that, it's not difficult at all. You know how we are when we are working on something we love, can't wait to get to it, see how it comes alive as we work.
Let me know if any of you give it a try. If I could recall the name of the store vending at the show, I'd share it. Other than that, I know Nordic Needle carries kits, books and supplies.
Blessings,
Linda
This is absolutely stunning! Words can't really describe it's beauty.
Cynthia,
Thank you for your kind comment. I felt the same thing when I saw the sample! I NEED to do another one
